Requesting a Showing: How to Ask Your Agent for a Tour

What you need first, and what happens after you send it.

When you find a home you want to see in person, you can ask for a tour straight from Padzilly. Your agent receives the request and contacts you to agree on a time.

The two things you need first

Padzilly will not let you request a tour on just any home. You have to clear two steps, and the screen tells you which one is missing under the heading Almost there:

  1. Qualify for this property based on your financial profile

  2. Save this property to your favorites

Once both are done, the button opens the request form.

This is not Padzilly being difficult. It exists so that nobody drives across town for a house the buyer cannot finance — including you. If the home does not qualify, the fix is usually in OfferPro: adjust the offer price, the down payment or the seller contribution until it does, or talk to your loan officer about your profile.

You also need an agent

The request goes to an agent, who then arranges access with the listing side — so there has to be one to send it to.

If you are browsing Padzilly's own catalog rather than a specific agent's site, and no agent is linked to your account, the button stays unavailable until you have one. Once an agent is linked, it works on every listing.

Without an agent you can still see the home the normal way: call the listing agent shown on the listing and arrange it directly.

Sending the request

Click Request Showing (you may also see it as Schedule a tour). The form shows:

  • Property — the home you are asking about, so there is no confusion

  • Message (optional) — a note for your agent. Use it for what matters: "any time Saturday morning", "I work until 6", "can we see the garage?"

Then click Send Request.

You will see Showing Request Sent!, and Padzilly tells you plainly what happens next: your agent will contact you to confirm the showing details. Padzilly does not book the appointment itself and does not pick the time — your agent does, because they are the one who has to arrange access with the listing side.

One request per home

If you already have a pending request on a property, Padzilly tells you: you already have an active showing request for this property. It will not send a duplicate.

That is deliberate. Sending the same request three times does not make your agent answer faster, it just makes your list harder to read.

Your active showings

Padzilly keeps a list called Your active showings so you can see every tour you have asked for and which ones are still waiting on a confirmation. If a request has been sitting there for a day with no word, call your agent — a request is a message, not a guarantee that it was seen.

If you are using the demo buyer

If your Padzilly account came with a practice buyer, you will see Practice account instead of the form: this is the demo buyer your Padzilly account came with, so tours are turned off. Everything else still works — save homes, run searches, try OfferPro. Only the tour request is disabled, because there is no real agent on the other end of a demo.

A short piece of advice

Put your real availability in the message. "Any time" sounds easy and generous, and it is the slowest possible answer, because now your agent has to come back and ask you when. Two concrete windows will get you in the door faster than an open invitation.
