A saved search is a set of criteria Padzilly keeps watching for you. You stop checking the site every evening; Padzilly emails you when a home shows up that fits your numbers.
Padzilly describes it in three words on the screen: Define, Save, Match — set filters that match what you actually qualify for, keep the search ready to run any time, and get notified when new homes fit your numbers.
Apply your filters on the search page, then click Save Search.
You can also save a map area search — draw an area on the map and the saved search remembers that shape, not just the filter values. That is the one to use when what matters is the specific neighbourhood rather than the city.
Your searches live in Favorites, under Saved Searches, each one showing the filters it holds.
A new search is called Untitled search until you name it. Use Rename Saved Search and give it something you will recognise — "3 bed under 2200 west side" is useful, "Untitled search" three times over is not.
You can also sort the list with Alerts first, which brings the searches that are actively watching to the top.
Every saved search has its own switch: Alerts on or Alerts off. A search with alerts off is still saved and still runs when you open it — it just does not email you.
So you can keep five searches and have only the two you are serious about sending you mail.
This is worth knowing, because it explains why you do not get a flood.
Up to six properties per email. The search looks at a much wider window than one email shows, and the email carries the most recent homes you have not seen.
Only homes you have not been sent before. Padzilly remembers what it already showed you, so the same house does not keep reappearing.
The next email picks up where the last one stopped. Nothing is skipped because it did not fit in the previous send — it just waits at the front of the queue.
Everything is measured against your investment profile. A home only reaches you if its payment and cash needed fit your numbers. That is the whole point: these are not "new listings in your area", they are new listings you could buy.
By default, the same new listings also go to your real estate agent, so they see what Padzilly is showing you. That is usually a good thing — it means your agent can call you about a house before you have even opened the email.
Use Delete Saved Search. Padzilly asks you to confirm first, because deleting is not reversible and people do click it by accident.
Make your saved searches narrow and name them properly. A search for "homes under $500,000" will email you six houses that have nothing in common. A search for "3 bed, 2 bath, no HOA, in these four streets" will email you six houses you want to see — and that is a very different Tuesday morning.
